4 GCSEs at 3 points or D grade and above is desirable, including English and maths, or a Level 1 qualification.
We will request a school or college report and all potentially suitable applicants will be invited for interview before being offered a place.
You will be taught using up to date resources and techniques that are appropriate to your learning style. Learning will take place during theory and skill training sessions, with assessments being carried out in a commercial salon environment. You will also have group and one to one tutorials on a regular basis during the programme. A fantastic range of master classes as well as national and international trips are organised throughout the year. Alongside this main qualification, professional qualifications * such as spray tanning, ear piercing and gel nails are open to all students.

The Level 2 Beauty Therapy study programme will consist of 5 key elements which you will need to complete:
> Main Qualification - as above
> Individual and group tutorial sessions
> Industry related work
> Development of English and maths. You will be required to undertake a formal qualification if you have not already achieved at Level 2.
> Development of enterprise and employability skills.
The provisional units planned are:
> Facial massage and skin care
> Make up
> Lash and brow treatments
*Due to a change in national standards 2016, units may be subject to change and are only representative at this point, however we keep these as up to date as possible. You will be provided with a finalised full course overview at Connecting to College.
You will need a salon uniform as well as a Level 2 Beauty Therapy kit and textbook.
Course Assessment Method
You will be assessed on a continual basis for written and practical work. At the end of your programme you will submit a portfolio of evidence, built up over the year to gain your full qualification.
You can progress on to a Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy or Nail Technology, which can then lead to a career as a Beauty Therapist, Spa Therapist, Salon Manager/Owner or work on a cruise liner or in film/TV. Alternatively you can go on to become an Apprentice.
