You will be assessed by observation, work books and assignment work.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry qualifications are required, you will be expected to demonstrate a positive attitude towards your personal development, with a view to meeting the eligibility criteria for entry into the British Armed Forces. You will be introduced to service discipline, fitness training, navigation and team building in a supportive and enjoyable environment taught by ex-military experienced staff.

You will need to be released from school if you are under 16. Please ask your school teacher to get in touch with us to secure your place.

What does it Cost?

The course will be free for 16-18 year olds. For 19+ please get in touch as this course may be free depending on personal circumstances.

What's Involved

Course overview

Our Military Preparation Award will help you develop all the valuable skills and disciplines required for Armed Forces recruitment and enlistment. This course runs 1 day a week for 8 weeks. You will achieve a recognised NOCN Level 1 Award in Skills for Employability, Training and Personal Development.

You will develop the skills and qualities required to prepare you for a career in the military. This includes discipline, leadership, teamwork, communication skills, the ability to motivate others, self-motivation and critical thinking. The programme also includes physical fitness sessions and adventurous training.

You will also have the opportunity to visit military service establishments throughout the course, as well as recruiting teams visiting you at the college to talk about different aspects of working within their specific service environments

What's Next

Learners will be better prepared to apply for the armed forces or progress onto the L2 Diploma in Public Uniformed Services
