Black Lives Matter Statement

We take our role as educators very seriously and are passionate about our values of community, inclusion and opportunity. We encourage all our students to understand and respect each other through our curriculum and tutorial activity and raise awareness of social injustice.

The Black Lives Matter movement has shown once again the importance of our role and the need to discuss and confront challenging issues, even when they are uncomfortable for some.

We will take this time for reflection to look again at our policies, our staff training programmes, and our student tutorial materials.

We know that there is always more to do and we would invite our learners, staff, parents, carers, employers and other stakeholders to talk to us about anything that concerns them and/or with ideas about the ways in which we may improve what we do.

We stand in solidarity with the black communities at home and around the world. Black lives matter at Darlington College and they always will.
