Entry Requirements

- Be working in a primary or secondary school, special school, or college

- Already hold 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English, Grade C/4 or above. Some employers will accept other relevant qualifications and experience, including a relevant Level 2 qualification.

What's Involved

In addition to the Apprenticeship Standard, you will also receive the Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning.

The course will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children or young people in school environments and will last for a recomended duration of 18 months.

The course is suitable for those wanting to pursue a career as a teaching assistant, learning support assistant, parent support advisers learning mentors or similar roles at Level 3.

This course enables and encourages you to develop your skills and acquire relevant knowledge to enter the world of employment. The structure of this qualification requires you to be employed in a school or college, and attend college once a week for tutor led sessions which contribute to the 20% off the job training requirement of the qualification.
