Course Name: Level 3 CIPD (Human Resources)

Entry Requirements

An interview with the course Tutor will take place, to ensure that this course is the right course for you. Whilst there are no formal entry requirements for this course, it is helpful to have a C grade, or equivalent in English to support your written assignments.

What's Involved

The foundation level Certificate in Human Resource Practice is an ideal qualification to help further your career as a Human Resource (HR) practitioner or to help you to gain employment in this field. The qualification will provide you with practical skills, such as how to design and deliver training, recruiting and selecting the best candidates, and how to conduct a performance review. You will also gain knowledge and understanding of how the HR function supports the business and adds value.

This qualification is ideal if you are starting out in a Human Resource role and want to create a solid foundation on which to build a career. It is also useful if you have been working in HR for some time but you don't as yet have a formal qualification that recognises the experience you have gained. The Foundation level can help you if you are in a supervisory or team leading capacity when there is a strong emphasis on managing people. It is a requirement of the course that you become a student member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Once you have successfully completed the programme of study you could apply to the institute to become an Associate member (you may be required to provide evidence of any relevant work experience you have).

Modules could consist of:

> Developing yourself as an effective human resource practitioner

> Understanding organisations and the role of human resources

> Recording, analysing and using human resource information

> Delivering learning and development activities

> Resourcing talent

> Supporting good practice in performance and reward management.

Course Assessment Method

There are 6 assignments to be completed during the course of the year, and a range of assessment methods will be used to validate the content and presentation of information in line with the CIPD assessment criteria.

What's Next

Once you have successfully completed the Foundation certificate you could apply for the Level 5 Intermediate Diploma in Human Resource Management, and ultimately, the Advanced Level 7 Certificate, Diploma or MA in Human Resource Management.

Human Resource Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced level qualifications are increasingly being demanded by discerning employers, and are ideal qualifications to help you to gain professional status in your chosen career.

The CIPD qualifications in HR Development are available at three levels:

> Level 3 Foundation - equivalent to A-level standard

> Level 5 Intermediate - equivalent to Degree standard

> Level 7 Advanced - postgraduate level.

At each level you can follow an HR or L&D pathway or a combination of both.

When you successfully complete a Certificate or Diploma, at any level, you’ll become an Associate member, meaning you can use the designatory letters Assoc CIPD after your name
