A minimum of at least two A-levels (or international equivalent), or a CIPS Advanced Certificate qualification, or a minimum of two years experience in a business environment.
Those achieving the Level 4 Procurement Apprenticeship will develop commercial capability that is vital in the procurement sector and valued across every sector. In the sector a commercial professional’s role is to support the transformation of the way that the best quality services are delivered, whilst securing value for money. Experience will be gained working on high profile, high value, high risk projects that affect millions of people and are worth billions of pounds each year.
The Apprenticeship programme is designed with a CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply. As part of this coursework assessed qualification, Apprentices will study the following modules:
> Contexts of procurement and supply
> Business needs in procurement and supply
> Sourcing in procurement and supply
> Negotiating and contracting in procurement and supply
> Managing contracts and relationships in procurement and supply
Each module is assessed through a formal examination set by CIPS. Each exam is schedule nationally in advance.
In addition, a workplace portfolio will be produced that will demonstrate competency across a range of knowledge, skills, and behaviours. The portfolio evidence will consist largely of activities carried out as part of the Apprentice’s job role.
Following enrolment, you will be registered as a member of the CIPS. This will provide you with access to a wealth of resources for the programme.
Course Assessment Method
Each module of the Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply qualification is assessed through a formal examination externally set by CIPS. The L4 Diploma must be achieved before progressing to the End Point Assessment. The End Point Assessment must be successfully achieved to complete the Apprenticeship programme.
The End Point Assessment:
> Each Apprenticeship standard is concluded with a competency test called the End Point Assessment. For the Procurement > and Supply standard this assessment consists of the following elements:
> A case study assessment (assessment supplied three months in advance of assessment date)
> A portfolio showcase and panel interview
Students from this programme have continued on to study the Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply, and Level 6 Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply to achieve MCIPS status.
