For this Apprenticeship you will need GCSEs at grade A*-C, including maths and English or an appropriate level 2 qualification. Mature students will be assessed on individual merit.
You must be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in a relevant environment for the duration of the Apprenticeship.
You will be required to attend an interview at the college and we will request a school or college report.
An Infrastructure Technician provides support to internal and external customers, helping them to be productive when using technology to do their own jobs, they do this using tools to problem solve and trouble shoot non routine problems. The Infrastructure Technician sets people up on systems and provides support when they need it, rectifying issues to maintain the organisations productivity.
Achievement is via a final, End Point Assessment completed in the last months of the apprenticeship. It is based on a portfolio containing evidence from real work projects which have been completed during the apprenticeship, a project giving the apprentice the opportunity to undertake a business-related project over a one-week period away from the day to day workplace, an employer reference and a structured interview with an assessor exploring what has been produced in the portfolio and the project as well as looking at how it has been produced.
The training is delivered using a variety of methods, including attendance at college for tuition, online eLearning material, workshops and self-study. Apprentices will receive assessor contact as well as full progress reviews, we encourage all managers and mentors to participate in this progress review.
Towards the end of the apprenticeship the assessor will provide final contact sessions to prepare apprentices for End Point Assessment.
Course modules will run over 8 to 12 week period with day release to ensure the off job content required.

Note: the module exams associated with the apprenticeship standard programmes will be delivered in the nearest test centre.
The final, End Point Assessment is completed in the last few months of the apprenticeship. It is based on:
> A portfolio – produced towards the end of the apprenticeship, containing evidence from real work projects which have been completed during the apprenticeship, usually towards the end, and which, taken together, cover the totality of the standard, and which is assessed as part of the end point assessment
> A project - giving the apprentice the opportunity to undertake a business-related project over a one-week period away from the day to day workplace
> An employer reference
> A structured interview with an assessor - exploring what has been produced in the portfolio and the project as well as looking at how it has been produced
In addition to the experience gained through meaningful employment the apprentice will develop key business skills which will strengthen their employability within any chosen path.
