No formal qualifications are required, but a keen interest in the industry is essential. We will request a school or college report and you will attend an interview at the college.
This is a basic introduction into body repair, for this qualification, candidates will be required to complete a specified number of assessment tasks for each unit, as defined within each unit. The assessment tasks may include removing basic body panels and trim components, hand skills and manufacturing techniques, preparing body panels and application of paints and cleaning interior and exterior vehicle body panels and components. If you have not achieved a C (4) grade or above in English or maths, you will as part of your course be required to work towards this as part of your study programme. You will be given the opportunity to go on work experience at certain times during your course.
Course Assessment Method
You will be assessed through; written portfolios and practical assessments.
You will have the opportunity to progress to the Level 1 Diploma in body repair, with further progression to the Level 2 Diploma, once the Level 1 has been completed.
These courses can lead to opportunities for employment in vehicle maintenance industries such as; apprenticeships, workshop technicians and vehicle maintenance technicians.

What does it Cost?
This course is free if you are 16-18 years of age on August 31 of the calendar year in which you begin your studies. If you are 19+ years of age fees may apply. However help may be available. To see if you can receive any funding call our Student Services Team on 01325 503030.
Course fees are payable to Darlington College. Registration and membership fees may be payable. All course fees are per year.
