Level 3 Procurement and Supply Assistant

Entry Requirements

Individual employers set the selection criteria, but this is likely to include 5 GCSEs, including maths and English, although some employers will accept other relevant qualifications and experience, including a relevant Level 2 qualification.

If English and maths has not been achieved prior to the apprenticeship start you will need to achieve level 2 English and Maths prior to completion of their Apprenticeship.

What's Involved

You will study the Level 3 CIPS Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations as part of your apprenticeship.

This course is one of the first steps to MCIPS - the global passport to a career in procurement.

The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply ladder of diplomas is the way to corporate membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) for professional buyers.

This course is aimed at new buyers in a purchasing role or those aspiring to a career in procurement. This qualification gives you the practical skills and knowledge to devise and execute procurement activities.

This course can be taken as per module.

Modules include:

> Procurement and Supply Environments

> Ethical Procurement and Supply

> Contract Administration

> Team Dynamics and Change

> Socially Responsible Procurement

In addition, a workplace portfolio will be produced that will demonstrate competency across a range of knowledge, skills, and behaviours. The portfolio evidence will consist largely of activities carried out as part of the Apprentice’s job role.

Course Assessment Method

Externally set and assessed exams for each of the five subjects

The L3 Advanced Certificate must be achieved before progressing to the End Point Assessment. The End Point Assessment must be successfully achieved to complete the Apprenticeship programme.

The End Point Assessment:

Each Apprenticeship standard is concluded with a competency test called the End Point Assessment. You must have achieved the Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations (Level 3), English and maths at Level 2 and have compiled a portfolio of evidence

For the Procurement & Supply Assistant standard this assessment consists of the following elements:

- Work-based project followed by a presentation with questions and answers

- Interview underpinned by a portfolio of evidence

This is graded fail, pass or distinction

What's Next

You can progress onto the CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply or the Level 4 Commercial Procurement & Supply Apprenticeship
