What's Involved

This qualification aims to provide expert guidance to learners wishing to gain knowledge and understanding on Electric Vehicle charging equipment installation. It allows learners to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the Electrotechnology sector.

Currently there is an increasing demand for new electric vehicle charging points but too few installers to roll them out.

This qualification is aimed at practicing electricians interested in understanding how to install the range of equipment and systems available, it covers the specialised installation requirements of electric vehicle charging equipment in public, private and commercial locations and includes exclusive guidance on electrical requirements.

The course is a two day programme.

Entry Requirements

This course is intended for practicing electricians.

Due to the safety implications of working with electricity and the guided learning hours associated with this qualification, learners should have a Level 3 qualification demonstrating competency associated with working in the electrical installation industry.

City & Guilds cannot accept any registrations for learners under 18 as these qualifications are not approved for under 18s.

Must be able to demonstrate the following competencies.

Be able to correctly install and terminate:

pvc/pvc cable (twin and earth)

Steel Wire armoured cable

Be able to carry out an initial verification (inspection & testing) on an electrical installation and complete the necessary paperwork.

Note: These competencies are required for the assessment and are not taught as part of the course.

What does it Cost?

£300 + VAT per person. This includes registration fees and exam fees.

Course Assessment Method

Candidates will be assessed by on-line multiple choice test and a practical assignment.
