You will need a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, and be employed or volunteer in a relevant setting with children or young people from 5 - 25 years of age at least one day a week. Ideally you will have GCSE maths and English, and have the support of your employer to attend the course and be able to learn in the workplace.
You will also need to have an enhanced DBS check.
This course is an excellent progression for those working with children and young people who are wanting to enhance their knowledge and employability.
It is suitable for practitioners working with children and young people agsed between 5-25 in various settings including schools, colleges, residential children's homes, youth work and specialist provisions.
This course will run each Thursday evening from 4pm-9pm (breaks included).

You will learn through tutor led lectures, seminar discussions and workshops which will deepen student learning and help apply learning to the workplace.

Course Assessment Method
You will be assessed through essays, reports, annotated bibliographies, discussions, portfolios of evidence and presentations.
You can progress onto the BA (Hons) Education Studies and Training or the BA (Hons) Working with Children and Young People and other honours degrees. Progression into various teacher training programmes and social work are possible once an honours degree is achieved.
