What's Involved

This course is designed to cover the esport industry where learners will be able to apply strategy, skills and teamwork. There will also be an opportunity to explore other areas including Film and TV, Games design and business development . This is a practical study programme, embedding elements of theory.

If you have not achieved a C/4 grade or above in English or maths, you will as part of your course be required to work towards this as part of your study programme. You will be given the opportunity to go on work experience at certain times during your course.

To develop your employability opportunities, you may also be given enrichment classes. This may focus upon additional qualifications, industrial updating and career preparation.

Course Assessment Method

All units require course work which will be internally assessed throughout the year.

What's Next

Successful completion of the level 2 study programme can allow you access to the level 3 qualifications in esports, Creative Media Production or Business before progressing to university, employment or apprenticeships.

As the industry continues to grow around the world, more jobs and career pathways are being created in esports, creating a demand for people with specific skills.

What does it Cost?

This course is free if you are 16-18 years of age on August 31 of the calendar year in which you begin your studies. If you are 19+ years of age fees may apply. However help may be available. To see if you can receive any funding call our Student Services Team on 01325 503030.

Course fees are payable to Darlington College. Registration and membership fees may be payable. All course fees are per year.
