Darlington College offers a wide range of different and exciting opportunities within the field of construction. We offer full-time programmes in Carpentry and Joinery, Brickwork, Plastering, Electrical Installation, Plumbing, and Multi Construction Skills.

We have invested heavily in facilities and are very proud of our Construction Innovation Centre. We have large workshops for bricklaying, joinery, plastering, plumbing, electrical installation and Multi Construction Skills work, as well as classrooms, two computer suites, a gas assessment centre and a green energy room.

We focus heavily on embedding health and safety into the department and therefore require all learners to wear appropriate PPE including Safety boots, a high visibility vest, and safety glasses to undertake workshop tasks. This is a view to prepare learners for the demands of working on a real construction site. Don’t worry – we will provide the first set of these items within the first week of term.

We also offer Apprenticeships in all areas (Carpentry and Joinery, Brickwork, Plastering Plumbing and electrical installation).

If you do not hold an offer of a job for your apprenticeship you will need to register with The National Apprenticeship Service www.apprenticeships.org.uk
