UAL Level 1 Diploma in Art, Design and Media students held an end of year art exhibition in class with some of the pieces featured selected for display in our Learning Resource Centre by the LRC Manager who came along to judge the work. The work is based on portraits and links to the student’s work experience.
The Formal Elements
Work by UAL Level 3 Diploma in Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication Students.
During the Autumn term students at Darlington College have been exploring the theme ‘The Formal Elements’ considering the ways that Line, Form, Pattern, Texture, Shape, Tone and Colour are used to communicate meaning, messages, feelings and ideas in the visual arts.
The students have explored a range of materials, methods and techniques associated with photography, visual communication, and visual studies practice. Through this project they have developed their knowledge of visual language and an ability to apply this to their own work.
These are the final pieces produced by the students and represent a mix of specialisms and creative ideas.
Academic Year 2019/20
A selection of work produced by students from all of our courses, part of their final major projects in 2019/20.
There is also a selection of work form ‘live’ assignments that we have been involved as part of students coursework.
This is the kind of work you as a potential student could be doing with us in September after you enrol to study Art & Design at Darlington College.
Community Project Work
Part of Art & Design work experience, students get involved in real community projects.
