Manufacturing, Robotics and Automation

Automation is the future of the manufacturing industry. In fact, automated machines are expected to replace almost half of the global workforce. Robotics is now becoming much more affordable for businesses, and many companies are now using robots to undertake monotonous, tiresome, and sometimes dangerous jobs. Robotics includes learning skills such as coding, Engineering technical support and Artificial Intelligence. Darlington College has invested heavily in this area, including our new Robotics and Automation Manufacturing lab, which is full of industry-standard robots used in everyday Engineering tasks. This high level of expertise is essential for Engineering students looking to study on our T level qualifications, or on our Apprenticeships and HE offerings.

All Engineering apprenticeships encompass the training required for a professionally qualified engineering employee and have been designed by industry experts. We also offer part-time one-day-a-week Higher Education qualifications, at Level 4 HNC and Level 5 HND,in partnership with Teesside University. Many students study this higher-level qualification alongside a full or part time job within the Engineering industry.
