Maths, English and ESOL

Subject Overview

The Maths and English Department delivers a wide range of qualifications all externally accredited by Edexcel ranging from Entry Level(s) through to GCSE accreditation.

Functional Skills are offered in both subjects and taught on a part-time basis with both daytime and evening lessons. Accreditation is available from Entry Level 1 up to Level 2. These adult return to learn courses are free of charge.

GCSEs in Maths and English are offered on a part-time basis both daytime and evenings. Tuition is free and both are externally examined.

ESOL – We teach English for Speakers of Other Languages from Entry (E) 1 through to Level (L) 2. There are 3 separate courses available to suit your level of English: Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing.

Tuesday 3rd September

11.00am – 12.30pm                    4.30pm – 6pm

Wednesday 4th September

11.00am – 12.30pm                      4.30pm – 6pm

Thursday 5th September

11.00am – 12.30pm                      3pm – 4pm

Friday 6th September

10.00am – 11.30am

To enrol on ESOL, you need to bring to these sessions:

*NI number (if you have one),

*proof of residency (for non-EU residents),

*ability to pay for the course, OR

*documents in support of being in receipt of benefits.

Classes may be free if you earn < £16,009.50 p.a.
