Why would you want to attend?
In these difficult times it pays to be well versed in the tools that you use in the classroom and aware of those that you don’t. Although you could pick things up as you go a structured approach will ensure that your time is used productively. It is often difficult to find the motivation to complete self paced activities. Studying the content with others and coming together for coaching support will help you to stay focussed and driven. Although not required, there will be the opportunity at the end of the course to complete the Google Certified level 1 educator Exam, which proves your skills and value as a Google Educator. This costs £10 and is not included. This is a FREE offering funded by the DFE Edtech Demonstrator Schools and Colleges Programme, so there is no cost to your school.
Who should attend:
Any teacher, lecturer or classroom assistant that uses Google Classroom or other Google products such as Docs, Sheets and Slides in their school. It is assumed that you are at least familiar Google Workspace for education.
What will be studied
This four half day boot camp will provide you with the skills and knowledge to complete the Google Certified Educator level 1 qualification. It is self directed but supported by Google Certified trainers and educators. You will be expected to complete three modules per day from the syllabus. The Introductory module must be studied prior to the start of the course.
When
The sessions will run 9 – 2 Monday to Thursday during February Half term (15 to 18 February) with a break for lunch. As the study is self paced, you can have breaks during the morning as you see fit.

NB: Following your application to join the course you must enrol your school on to the Edtech Demonstrator Programme and have selected Darlington College as your partner. A form for you to do this will follow.
Only one form is required per school regardless of how many staff members enrol to the course. Completing the form does not commit your school to anything but allows us to prove that your school has had contact with the programme. Staff from schools not signed up will not be eligible to join the course.
